Skyrim: Restored Addition (Mod List)

Hello everyone,

Its been a while, I apologize for not sticking around on here!

What I am bringing you today is a mod list that is designed to restore a lot of the cut content from Skyrim; and there is a lot of it. I am pretty much a lore "fanatic" when it comes to modding so I tend to not have mods in my game which add 100 new bits of armor or allow me to ride a giant into battle. Skyrim has a vast amount of unused content and to have it all restored over the years by various modders truly makes for a more complete game.

So what can you expect? Well new locations, weapons, armors, creatures, spells and quests! All restored back into the game.

I have also thrown in a few mods which, while not restoring cut content, add in/expand upon some of Skyrim's content based on in game information/mechanics: For example A mod that enhances the Falkreath Graveyard (In game its made out to be this awesome, large ancient graveyard that is unusual in its size and yet its just a small patch of land)

In terms of mechanics, I have included a mod that allows for the crafting of circlets (Seriously you could craft rings and amulets but not circlets?) and also a mod that allows you to wear both circlets and hoods.

You will also find here mods which attempt to tie the DLC's to Skyrim. By this I mean you can find items from the Dragonborn DLC in Skyrim instead of just on Solsthiem, or more ovens from hearthfire.

As a final, lore-restoration not cut content restoration, I have also linked to some new locations that appeared in previous TES Games, such as ARENA (towns like oakwood) but were left out of the Skyrim development. These mods are as complete as can be (i.e not just a slap up job but are tied into the radial quest system)

All of these mods are meant to be as Lore-friendly as one can get when using mods and take Skyrim to a new level.

If you think of any more mods feel free to comment and I will look to add them to the list :)

Dawnguard
Lokir's Tomb (Bethesda edition)*

This mod restores a lot of unused content. Several NPCs,  quests, and other miscellaneous content which was created but never implemented in the game have been restored

Trick shot perk:
Restores the archery perk "Trick Shot".

Haunting and Mourning:
Restores a couple of world interaction events that Bethesda left disabled. The Cutting Room Floor also restored aspects of "mourning". Its recommended that you put this mod above TCRF.

Guard Dialogue Enhanced:
Besides giving the guards some much needed attention the mod restores some guard dialogue that was never used.

Shor's Stone
Ivarstead
Darkwater Crossing
Kynesgrove
These four mods not only expand the small villages but do it in a way that is the spirit of this mod list. The author has added houses for the residents who didn't have a home, restored some dialogue interactions for shor's stone and fixes some bugs such as investment in the black smith for Kynesgrove.

Lokir's House:
This mod adds a small farmhouse belonging to Lokir in Rorikstead. You know the chap from the start of the game who gets killed before the dragons attack.

Castle Volkihar restored:
A mod to allow the player to clean up the debris and rebuild Castle Volkihar to its former glory.

Oblivion gates in Skyrim
Oblivion gates in Cities
These mods add ruined Gates at several locations around the province, with the latter adding them to cities.

The lore states that the graveyard is large compared to the population of Falkreath. This mod fixes that oversight.

Craftable Circlets:
Adds the oversight of not being able to craft circlets to the game.

Circlets and Hoods:
Another small oversight that is "fixed".

Lantair Dale

These four mods restore locations seen in Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls Chapter I: Arena (set in 3E 399), into the modern day (4E 200) Skyrim setting over 200 years later.

Hearthfire is a Part of Skyrim:
Adds items from the Hearthfire DLC such as the new breads, wines and food to Taverns and random houses. It also placed 4 ovens into the game world.

Dragonborn DLC is a part of Skyrim:
This mod attempts to integrate the Dragonborn DLC into Skyrim by taking some of the new content and making them available in Skyrim. NPC's will sell items, you can find items in random loot.

Elderscrolls Online Imports:
The Elder Scrolls Online Imports adds some Locations, Items, Spells, NPCs, and other things appearing in The Elder Scrolls Online into the world of Skyrim

working on a wooden fence

So been working on some new resources today.

Inspired by Skyrims "Wicker wooden" fences for their farms, gardens and just marking boundaries I took a stab at it myself:

Skyrim Cloth Armor

Still going through old files on my External Hardrive and found this lost little bit of armor. A bit from the readme:

"The Armor was based on some concept art for the Home of the Nords. I made it a year or so ago and meant to give it to the SHoTN team but it was lost in a HD crash. I recently found a back up on my external hard drive."

So rather than hit the delete button I thought to share this lost file with you all.

It is a modders resource which means that you can use it in your mods if you want :D Cause I am nice like that.

Shrine of Falzan updated Video! New features!

Hi guys!

So I've done some more work on the Shrine of Falzan, and due to request, I have made some footage of some of the cool features I have put into the mod. I've combined it with the previous released "Lava Trap" video - so if oyu've seen that footage before, I apologise (just skip that bit in the new video)

Secondly, I also apologise for the shot length of the video! But dont want to show too much :P

 Peace out

Shrine of Falzan: Production shots and layout

Dear blog people of the net! An update!

I have been asked recently how the progress on the shrine of Falzan is going to which I responded its getting there. This led to a debate about how modders always post half finished/fully finished CS or Game shots of interiors/areas/exteriors/NPC's/textures etc... when in a dungeon mod it makes sense to get a layout of the dungeon. So I thought on this.

I now present you with "layout" screens. These are ariel shots of the dungeon from within the CS which show the current finished areas to give an idea of the number of interiors, their size and the overall planned interiors of the mod. I have also provided a shot which shows all interiors in comparison to each other along side planned interiors with links showing entrances to each interior (ie how they link to each other.)

Hope you enjoy this unique perspective :D

Update: Unofficial Bloodmoon Patch

I thought that I would post here the fixes in the upcoming Unofficial Bloodmoon Patch so that you may ponder over them until the mod is released:

The patch was going to be modular (I.e a separate ESP for each fix and then one master esp that had all the fixes) but I've decided to just release it all as a Master File (ESM) that way any other mod that changes any of the fixes (for better or for worse) will b priority. I.e if a mod makes use of factors estate then as that mod will load over the ESM file you wont have any problems :)

Bug: Sados Relothan's house in Raven Rock - there is no Sados Relothan anywhere in the game or the CS.
Fix: Added Sados Relothan to the game

Bug: In Sados Relothan's house an item in it is listed as belonging to Sakin Sanammasour, an otherwise un-notable Ashlander living in Suran.
Fix: Changed the ownership to Sados Relothan

Bug: Vacant House in Raven Rock
Fix:More of a tweak - It doesn't make sense to have a vacant house, where supplies are limited so have given it an owner.

Bug: Zeno Faustus, the blacksmith of Fort Frostmoth is supposed to sell imperial armor but he wears it.
Fix: More of a tweak - added extra armor so that Zeno Faustus sells imperial armor to the player

Bug: Mirisa the Redguard missionary isn't wearing shoes
Fix: Added shoes to Mirisa.

Bug: Brynjolfr hut contains a Nordic silver short sword that would give him a full set of Nordic Silver weaponry but it is not owned by him and so he doesn't sell it
Fix: Assigned owner ship to the short sword so Brynjolfr will sell it.

Bug: Draugr are not actually considered undead by the game and are instead set as creatures. As such, Turn Undead spells will not work against them.
Fix: Made Draugr "Undead" so that Turn Undead spells will work. (Mirisa actually sells a turn undead spell so I think the Devs meant to make them undead)

Bug: Skaal Guards don't carry Shields
Fix: Skaal Gaurds are given Shields

Bug: Nord leg has an enchantment but it wasn't assigned
Fix: Assigned correct enchantment to the Nord Leg

Bug:Wolf greaves facing the wrong way*
Fix: Corrected Wolf greaves

Bug: Static bed in factors estate
Fix: Made bed activator

Bug: Snow Bear boot has wrong nif assigned**
Fix: Assigned the correct Nif

Bug: Wolf shield looked like a snow wolf shield.***
Fix: Re-textured shield to match wolf armor and added a snow wolf shield for the snow wolf armor

Bug: Snow bear armor has no shield***
Fix: Made snow bear shield for snow bear armor

Bug: Udyrfrykte after attack on thirsk has arrows portruding from back but none in inventory when killed
Fix: Added arrows to the Udyrfrykte's inventory so you can loot them on death

NOTES:

The following "fix" will be included in a seperate ESM file - the reason being that after lengthy debate with other modders it is not conisdered to be a bug.

Bug: Stalhrim doesnt respawn (It seems odd that out of that huge pile of Stalhrim you can only get one tiny part)
Fix: Made Stalhrim re-spawn (I think the standard re-pawn time of containers that respawn is 72 hours?)

The following mods were used to help create this patcheither by seeing how they made the fixes or incorporating the mod into the patch itself. As such I have placed links to the mods here (as well as giving credit in the readme with links provided there too) as a thank you to those modders and their hard work.

Also be aware that I have checked and re-checked the Unofficial Morrowind Patch and as far as I know these fixes have not been included.

Falmer in Skyrim?

The elusive snowelves have caused a stir this month as it emerges that they could be showing up in the upcoming Elderscrolls V: Skyrim.

It came to light as the Gaming site Rockpapershotgun, in their article “A realistic hour with Skyrim”, mentions an encounter with the Snow elves:

“As the fight moves on we face Falmer, “twisted, evil creatures that dwell in Skyrim’s deepest reaches” and which basically look like goblins wearing spider’s faces as helmets, we move more into melee.”

Could this be the graceful and proud race mentioned in the fall of the snow prince? It would seem not, as there is no mention of the race looking like “goblins” in that book. However before those who believed the Riekling ( A race of Snow goblins from Morrowinds expansion pack Bloodmoon) rejoice let’s take a look at the “Skyrim Falmer” (note: these pictures were taken from the offical elderscrolls site.):

This image was titled "Spider Hero" which fits in with the article quoted above.

Lets look at some enlargements:

Interesting armor
Ugly? No I didn't call you that..
As you can see they certainly look grotesque but they do have that “Skyrim feel”; which is to say that the elves shown to be in Skyrim look rough, angry and plain ugly:

And before you even question their uglness as an excuse not to be Falmer - You do realise that Orcs in the Elderscrolls universe are Elves right? And well.... just look at them:
Give us a kiss

They certainly don’t look like goblins in the sense of small creatures running around and being a pain but indeed look more like a race that has been forced to hide underground for 4000 years.  If they are indeed the Falmer I wonder what their role is within Skyrim?

But who are the Falmer and why are they skulking in caves? It is believed that the Falmer are the original inhabitants of Skyrim – a race of Mer (that’s elves) that at some point in their history came into conflict with the Nords who drove them out of their homeland.

It is thought that the Falmer either died out in this “purge” with any survivors having fled, eventually interbreeding with other Mer and thus becoming extinct.

This is not the first time that a Falmer type creature has been seen in an Elderscrolls game. As already pointed out the Riekling of Solsthiem are considered to be decedents of the Falmer by the Skaal, the local Nord population. But an Altmer (thats a High Elf) in Raven Rock states that they are nothing but snow goblins and the Falmer did interbreed – blending into other elven societies.

Riekling - this is a Falmer? I dont thinks so...

Then of course there are the residents of Glacier Crawl from the Elderscrolls Travels: Shadowkey. Blue skinned humanoids who live underground in the ice – sound familiar? It is believed that these could be Falmer:

These actually look very similar to the Skyrim ones.

Finally there are the mysterious Snow warriors of the Ice Tribes which attacked the city Dawnstar in the the Elderscrolls Travels: Dawnstar:

Tall and ugly - Just like Skyrim's!

So we are left to ponder how the Falmer will be represented in TES:V - if at all. There has been no confirmation of their appreance by offical sources so treat this as rumor for now. However, if the Falmer are in Skyrim, perhaps we will finally get some answers as to what happened to them, what they have been doing since and what the future may hold for them!

Special thanks to River from the UESP forum for digging up the images.
