New Webiste! New Blog!

Hello Everyone!

Some of you may have noticed that this blog has not been update for a longtime. That is mainly due to me not getting around to updating it (LAZY!) and in part because I wanted to work on a fresh take to the blog.

I can now reveal that I have a new website;

Alien Void now lists my mods latest videos and has it's own separate blog space. So for anyone who is looking for a one stop place for my mods (all are linked to NEXUS MODS) and want to find out what is going on in my own little void so please check out the new website.

This blog will no longer be updated but will be still be available.

Falzan - New Armor!

All the interiors for Falzan are now finished! The only things left to do are the placement of creatures, some dialogue and some heavy scripting.

With the main bulk of the mod done, i.e the interiors, I have shifted focus to content. In tradition with the Neverhalls and the Forgottenhalls I wanted to add to the wealth of new items to collect. In part  I have created some new armour. Two new Falmer parts (to match the armour from Snow Prince Enhanced, Neverhalls and Forgottenhalls)

As well as Falmer parts I've drawn inspiration from Skyrim - though I still refuse to have the Falmer as Goblinoid creatures! (though some Snow Goblins do show in the mod) - I have created Chaurus armour parts and weapons. So lots going on!

Skyrim Cloth Armor

Still going through old files on my External Hardrive and found this lost little bit of armor. A bit from the readme:

"The Armor was based on some concept art for the Home of the Nords. I made it a year or so ago and meant to give it to the SHoTN team but it was lost in a HD crash. I recently found a back up on my external hard drive."

So rather than hit the delete button I thought to share this lost file with you all.

It is a modders resource which means that you can use it in your mods if you want :D Cause I am nice like that.

You can download it here: Click Me

Shrine of Falzan updated Video! New features!

Hi guys!

So I've done some more work on the Shrine of Falzan, and due to request, I have made some footage of some of the cool features I have put into the mod. I've combined it with the previous released "Lava Trap" video - so if oyu've seen that footage before, I apologise (just skip that bit in the new video)

Secondly, I also apologise for the shot length of the video! But dont want to show too much :P

 Peace out

The Daedric Experience

Working on a new mod! The Deadric Experience! Its seeks to improve the experience of fighting (and geting rewarded for killing) Dremora.

So whats changed?

- 3 New Dremoras: 2 varities of Daedric prince and 1 daedric Patriarch (each with unique meshes).
- All Dremora have a 10% chance of dropping a piece of Daedric Armor
- Atronach's no longer have "reflect" instead they have a spell absorb 50% (Like the birthsign of the same name!)

Dremora's and Dremora Lords have had the Reflect ability removed.
The dremora princes appear at level 40
Dremora Patriarch appears at level 50

Dremora Princes and Patriarchs are alot stonger than Dremora lords, having access to fire spells and stronger shield spells!

So the low down on the creatures and their drops!

==========
Dremora:
==========

10% chance to drop a piece of daedric armor (boots, greaves, curiass, left or right pauldron, left or right gauntlet)
They dont drop shields or helms!

==========
Dremora Lords:

==========
10% chance to drop a piece of daedric armor, same as regular dremora, BUT also chance to drop a shield..

==========
Deadric Prince of Terror:

==========
10% chance of dropping daedric armor including shield. ALSO chance to drop Deadric Helm of Terror

==========
Deadric Prince of Inspiration:
==========

10% chance of dropping daedric armor including shield. ALSO chance to drop Deadric Helm of Inspiration

==========
Deadric Patriarch:
==========

10% chance of dropping the Daedric armor, including shield and towershield, as well as the daedric helm of God.
Also has a chance of dropping enchanted curiass and greaves
Unlike other dremora the patriarch drops ONLY deadric weapons.

Shrine of Falzan: Production shots and layout

Dear blog people of the net! An update!

 I have been asked recently how the progress on the shrine of Falzan is going to which I responded its getting there. This led to a debate about how modders always post half finished/fully finished CS or Game shots of interiors/areas/exteriors/NPC's/textures etc... when in a dungeon mod it makes sense to get a layout of the dungeon. So I thought on this.

 I now present you with "layout" screens. These are ariel shots of the dungeon from within the CS which show the current finished areas to give an idea of the number of interiors, their size and the overall planned interiors of the mod. I have also provided a shot which shows all interiors in comparison to each other along side planned interiors with links showing entrances to each interior (ie how they link to each other.)

 Hope you enjoy this unique perspective :D

Falmer in Skyrim?

The elusive snowelves have caused a stir this month as it emerges that they could be showing up in the upcoming Elderscrolls V: Skyrim.

It came to light as the Gaming site Rockpapershotgun, in their article “A realistic hour with Skyrim”, mentions an encounter with the Snow elves:

“As the fight moves on we face Falmer, “twisted, evil creatures that dwell in Skyrim’s deepest reaches” and which basically look like goblins wearing spider’s faces as helmets, we move more into melee.”

Could this be the graceful and proud race mentioned in the fall of the snow prince? It would seem not, as there is no mention of the race looking like “goblins” in that book. However before those who believed the Riekling ( A race of Snow goblins from Morrowinds expansion pack Bloodmoon) rejoice let’s take a look at the “Skyrim Falmer” (note: these pictures were taken from the offical elderscrolls site.):

This image was titled "Spider Hero" which fits in with the article quoted above.

Lets look at some enlargements:

Interesting armor
Ugly? No I didn't call you that..
As you can see they certainly look grotesque but they do have that “Skyrim feel”; which is to say that the elves shown to be in Skyrim look rough, angry and plain ugly:

And before you even question their uglness as an excuse not to be Falmer - You do realise that Orcs in the Elderscrolls universe are Elves right? And well.... just look at them:
Give us a kiss

They certainly don’t look like goblins in the sense of small creatures running around and being a pain but indeed look more like a race that has been forced to hide underground for 4000 years.  If they are indeed the Falmer I wonder what their role is within Skyrim?

But who are the Falmer and why are they skulking in caves? It is believed that the Falmer are the original inhabitants of Skyrim – a race of Mer (that’s elves) that at some point in their history came into conflict with the Nords who drove them out of their homeland.

It is thought that the Falmer either died out in this “purge” with any survivors having fled, eventually interbreeding with other Mer and thus becoming extinct.

This is not the first time that a Falmer type creature has been seen in an Elderscrolls game. As already pointed out the Riekling of Solsthiem are considered to be decedents of the Falmer by the Skaal, the local Nord population. But an Altmer (thats a High Elf) in Raven Rock states that they are nothing but snow goblins and the Falmer did interbreed – blending into other elven societies.

Riekling - this is a Falmer? I dont thinks so...

Then of course there are the residents of Glacier Crawl from the Elderscrolls Travels: Shadowkey. Blue skinned humanoids who live underground in the ice – sound familiar? It is believed that these could be Falmer:

These actually look very similar to the Skyrim ones.

Finally there are the mysterious Snow warriors of the Ice Tribes which attacked the city Dawnstar in the the Elderscrolls Travels: Dawnstar:

Tall and ugly - Just like Skyrim's!

So we are left to ponder how the Falmer will be represented in TES:V - if at all. There has been no confirmation of their appreance by offical sources so treat this as rumor for now. However, if the Falmer are in Skyrim, perhaps we will finally get some answers as to what happened to them, what they have been doing since and what the future may hold for them!

Special thanks to River from the UESP forum for digging up the images.
